A recent study evaluated the effects of upadacitinib, a Janus kinase inhibitor, on patient-reported outcomes in adults and adolescents with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis over 52 weeks. Results indicate significant improvements in itch, pain, skin symptoms, sleep, quality of life, and mental health. Patients reported rapid relief as early as week 1, with sustained benefits through week 52. Those receiving upadacitinib experienced greater improvements compared to the placebo group.
