This study investigated the clinical significance of absent or reversed end‐diastolic flow (AREDF) in the umbilical artery (UA) on Doppler during fetal open spina bifida (OSB) repair. The study analyzed data from 130 patients who underwent fetal OSB repair and compared the group with UA-AREDF to the group with normal UA Doppler. They found that UA-AREDF occurred in 18% of cases, but it disappeared within the first day after surgery. Postoperative cardiotocography (CTG) abnormalities were similar between the two groups, and there were no significant differences in neonatal parameters or 2-year neurodevelopmental outcomes. The study concluded that UA-AREDF during fetal OSB repair does not negatively impact postnatal or neurodevelopmental outcomes.

Severe nailfold videocapillaroscopy abnormalities, including late scleroderma patterns, avascular areas and reduced capillary density, were associated with bilateral carotid plaques. Age and systolic blood pressure remained key predictors of carotid atherosclerosis.

No adverse events were reported.

Among patients with CKD, DCB treatment resulted in a 2-year target lesion failure rate of 23.6%, compared with 30.0% with balloon angioplasty. The treatment effect was consistent across patients with and without CKD, suggesting that baseline renal function did not significantly influence DCB outcomes over 2 years.

Treatment-related infections and life-threatening adverse events were also less frequent, although neurotoxic events were more common with blinatumomab.
