A retrospective study of 116 advanced-stage extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKL) patients in Japan revealed a significant improvement in 2-year overall survival (OS) after 2017. The SMILE regimen (steroid, methotrexate, ifosfamide, L-asparaginase, etoposide) led to better survival rates compared to DeVIC or CHOP, with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) further improving outcomes. The study suggests L-asparaginase-based chemotherapy and HSCT as optimal strategies for advanced ENKL treatment.
