India's Health Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, announced at the 13th Indian Organ Donation Day ceremony in New Delhi that the country's organ donation rate has tripled over the past decade. The annual organ donations have increased to 15,000 compared to 5,000 in 2013. The government has taken steps to facilitate organ donation, including increasing leave duration for donors to 60 days and removing age limitations of 65 years. The campaign aims to spread awareness about brain stem death, dispel myths about organ donation, and promote healthy lifestyles. As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an awareness campaign called "Angdaan Mahotsav" has been launched nationwide.
