Inflammation and Imaging Markers in CAA-Related TFNE and cSAH

The study used high-resolution MRI and vessel wall imaging (VWI) to examine six patients with persistent transient focal neurological episodes (TFNE) associated with cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA). Findings revealed transient enhancement in leptomeningeal, parenchymal, and vessel walls, aligning with symptom regions. Resolution of enhancement and symptoms in three patients suggests inflammation’s role in TFNE and convexity subarachnoid hemorrhage (cSAH), highlighting its potential link to recurrent intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) risks.
