In this study, the relationship between inflammation, diabetes, and cancer was explored using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (1999-2020). Four immune-related markers were examined to predict overall survival (OS) in diabetic cancer patients. The systemic immune-inflammation index, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio, and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio were found to significantly predict OS (p < 0.05). Even after adjusting for confounders, these markers maintained predictive value. Non-linear relationships between inflammatory markers and OS were also observed. These findings highlight the prognostic potential of inflammatory markers in diabetic cancer patients, aiding in risk assessment.
