The primary outcome, the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) score, showed an average change of -7.0 in the infliximab group and -6.4 in the placebo group, with no significant difference (1.3 points; p=0.45). Secondary outcomes also showed no benefit. Adverse event rates were similar between groups. Infliximab did not outperform placebo in reducing pain or disability.

The findings improve understanding of electrolyte abnormalities in PHAII and may guide future therapeutic strategies targeting renal potassium handling.

Researchers call for prospective studies using standardized imaging, endoscopy, and molecular analyses to clarify the prevalence and clinical significance of potential upper airway involvement in CPAM.

Logistic regression confirmed that microinstability, LT tears, and increased combined anteversion were independently associated with CAOs. The findings indicate that CAOs may identify patients at risk of early osteoarthritis and could aid in the diagnosis and management of unstable hips in BDDH.
