A recent meta-analysis has found that influenza vaccination can reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events, cardiovascular death, and all-cause death in patients with ischaemic heart disease or heart failure. The analysis included six randomized controlled trials involving a total of 9,340 patients. The primary composite endpoint, which included cardiovascular death, acute coronary syndrome, stent thrombosis or coronary revascularization, stroke, or heart failure hospitalization, showed a significant reduction in incidence among those who received influenza vaccination. The findings highlight the potential benefits of influenza vaccination for individuals at high cardiovascular risk.
