A multi-institutional study conducted between February 2022 and March 2023 involving 120 adult patients undergoing ureteroscopy (URS) has revealed significant intrarenal pressure (IRP) variations during the procedure. The mean baseline IRP was 16.45 mmHg, but during semi-rigid URS, it reached 34.93 mmHg and varied during flexible ureterorenoscopy (FURS). High IRP levels during FURS were associated with postoperative urosepsis in 5% of cases, suggesting a potential link between elevated IRP and adverse outcomes. This study sheds light on the dynamics of IRP during URS procedures and their implications.
