Tezepelumab, a human monoclonal antibody, has shown promising results in reducing asthma exacerbations in patients with severe asthma, regardless of their phenotype, according to a pooled analysis of two clinical trials. The analysis included 1,334 patients and revealed that tezepelumab reduced the annualized asthma exacerbation rate by 60% compared to placebo. The drug was effective in both type 2-high (eosinophilic or allergic) and type 2-low asthma patients. Tezepelumab also improved lung function, asthma control, and quality of life.
