GYNAECOLOGY - IVF

This study evaluated the effectiveness of prophylactic intraoperative abdominal aortic balloon occlusion (IAABO) during cesarean section in pregnancies with placenta previa (PP) and placenta accreta spectrum (PAS). The results showed no significant difference in blood loss and transfusion between the IAABO and PP+PAS groups. However, these two groups had significantly higher blood loss and transfusion rates than the PP/PAS group. IAABO was associated with a higher incidence of uterine artery embolization and hysterectomy. Neonatal outcomes were similar between the IAABO and PP+PAS groups. The study concluded that IAABO had limited efficacy in controlling hemorrhage during cesarean section in these pregnancies.

Age and systolic blood pressure remained key predictors of carotid atherosclerosis.

Among patients with CKD, DCB treatment resulted in a 2-year target lesion failure rate of 23.6%, compared with 30.0% with balloon angioplasty. The treatment effect was consistent across patients with and without CKD, suggesting that baseline renal function did not significantly influence DCB outcomes over 2 years.

Treatment-related infections and life-threatening adverse events were also less frequent, although neurotoxic events were more common with blinatumomab.
