A retrospective multicenter database analysis spanning June 1, 2015, to December 31, 2020, investigated the application of ivabradine in acute decompensated heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). The study included 4163 HFrEF patients, with 684 (16.4%) receiving ivabradine during hospitalization. Results from matched cohorts (n=617) revealed that ivabradine use was not significantly associated with the composite outcome of cardiovascular death and heart failure hospitalization. Additionally, secondary outcomes and adverse renal events showed no significant differences between the ivabradine and non-ivabradine groups. These findings suggest ivabradine as a viable therapeutic option for selected acute decompensated heart failure patients.
