This randomized controlled trial investigated the impact of laparoscopic uterosacral bupivacaine administration on opioid usage and postoperative pain in patients undergoing minimally invasive hysterectomy. Despite the intervention, there was no significant reduction in opioid consumption or change in pain scores. The study involved 180 participants and found no difference in outcomes among groups receiving no administration, normal saline, or bupivacaine. The findings suggest that this approach did not effectively decrease opioid usage or alter postoperative pain levels in the studied population.
