The study compared the outcomes of laryngotracheal reconstruction (LTR) in extremely premature infants to those born preterm and term. The study found that extremely premature infants were at a higher risk for complications following LTR but had equivalent decannulation success compared to the other groups. The study also found that extremely premature infants were more likely to require anterior and posterior grafts and an airway stent.
