However, the two groups had no significant difference in side effects. The study concluded that IO BTX injections are safe and convenient but have lower success rates than OR injections for RCPD.

A retrospective study of 161 adults found that plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) improved early soft tissue healing after endodontic surgery when used alone. Combined with a collagen membrane, PRGF reduced analgesic use, adverse effects and quality-of-life impact while preserving clinical attachment.
