This study investigates the association between bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) cellular analysis and radiologic features in patients with fibrotic interstitial lung disease (ILD). Findings reveal weak correlations, particularly with lymphocyte percentages and total fibrosis. The study highlights that BAL cellular patterns do not strongly correlate with specific radiologic features or multidisciplinary discussion-based diagnoses, questioning the clinical utility of BAL in diagnosing and characterizing fibrotic ILD.
