The study evaluated 177,680 participants to analyze the relationship between high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and triglyceride (TG) levels with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). Low HDL-C and low TG levels were independently associated with an increased ADRD risk (HR 1.10, 95% CI 1.06–1.15 for low TGs), while high TG levels were protective (HR 0.92, 95% CI 0.88–0.96). High HDL-C was linked to increased ADRD risk before adjusting for TGs.
