Nearly half of global liver disease deaths and three-quarters of liver cancer fatalities occur in the Asia-Pacific region. Chronic hepatitis B and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) are primary drivers. Rising alcohol consumption and under-recognition of drug-induced liver injury exacerbate the problem. This review explores disease burden, emerging trends, care gaps, and strategies for improving outcomes in the region.
