The web-based Health Behaviour Change Support System (HBCSS) showed lasting effects on weight control but didn’t significantly outperform non-HBCSS at five years. In a study of 532 participants with overweight or obesity, HBCSS resulted in a 1.5% weight change at 5 years (vs. 1.9% for non-HBCSS). While there was no significant weight difference between groups, fewer participants in the HBCSS group needed antihypertensive medications, indicating a long-term health benefit.
