Long-Term Effects of Hysterectomy on Urinary Function and Risk Factors for Postoperative Stress Urinary Incontinence

The study aimed to assess the long-term effects of total hysterectomy on urinary function and identify factors contributing to postoperative stress urinary incontinence (SUI). 164 patients who underwent laparoscopic total hysterectomy were analyzed. Logistic multivariate analysis revealed menopause, low preoperative haemoglobin, high preoperative urine bacteria, large uterine volume, chronic cough history, and obesity as significant risk factors for postoperative SUI. The study underscores the impact of hysterectomy on urinary function and highlights risk factors for SUI post-surgery.
