A study evaluates the effectiveness of low-dose CT scans for proximal tibial intra-articular fractures, aiming to reduce radiation exposure. Researchers compared images from low-dose and conventional CT scans in 23 cases, finding a 93.94% sensitivity and 93.92% positive predictive value. Notably, an 89.81% reduction in radiation exposure was achieved with low-dose CT scans while maintaining image quality on par with conventional scans.
