
A study developed machine learning algorithms to predict prognosis in stage IV lung cancer patients, demonstrating high inter-institutional generalizability. Using data from 6,751 patients, the algorithms achieved areas under the curve (AUC) of 0.90, 0.85, 0.83, and 0.85 at 180, 360, 720, and 1,080 days, respectively. These results suggest that machine learning can significantly improve prognosis predictions and support clinical decision-making across different institutions.
