A study investigated the safety of Maraviroc, a CCR5 antagonist, as a potential therapeutic option for post-stroke depression (PSD). In this 10-week open-label study, ten patients received 300 mg of Maraviroc daily, with an additional eight weeks of monitoring. The primary outcome was the occurrence of serious treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs). Maraviroc was well tolerated with no serious adverse events. The Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) scores significantly improved, suggesting Maraviroc's potential efficacy in treating PSD.
