In a 1-year study comparing maxillary sinus membrane elevation with coagulum (test) to maxillary sinus floor augmentation with a 1:1 ratio of autogenous bone graft and deproteinized porcine bone mineral (control), 40 patients were evaluated for implant outcomes and patient-related outcome measures (PROMs). Both treatments showed successful implant and suprastructure functioning, with no significant differences in outcome measures. Patient satisfaction scores were high, and oral health-related quality of life improved significantly for both groups.
