Metformin Use Reduces Risk of Sudden Hearing Loss in T2DM

The cohort study found that metformin use in Type 2 diabetes (T2D) patients is associated with a dose-dependent reduction in the risk of sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) and lower mortality. Compared to non-users, metformin users had a significantly lower SSNHL incidence, with higher doses further decreasing the risk. These findings suggest metformin's potential role in preventing SSNHL and improving survival in T2D patients.
