In the study on early rheumatoid arthritis patients, combining methotrexate with biological treatments or active conventional treatment was investigated. Methotrexate showed good tolerance but led to more side effects when combined with tocilizumab. Dose reductions didn't affect remission rates in any treatment combinations. This study highlights the importance of optimizing methotrexate doses for improved safety profiles in combination therapies for rheumatoid arthritis patients.
