This retrospective study evaluated the sperm retrieval rate (SRR) using microdissection testicular sperm extraction (m-TESE) in patients who underwent orchidopexy for bilateral cryptorchidism. The study included 56 ex-cryptorchid patients with post-orchidopexy azoospermia. The SRR was found to be 46%. Patients were divided into negative and positive groups based on sperm extraction outcomes. Factors such as testicular location, histological patterns, FSH, and LH levels were significantly related to sperm retrieval results. The study suggests that m-TESE can be recommended for ex-cryptorchid patients with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) after orchidopexy, and preoperative testicular biopsy may not be necessary as clinical criteria can define NOA accurately.
