Microglia Drive Amyloid Clearance in Alzheimer Immunotherapy Patients

A Nature Medicine study revealed enhanced microglial activity in Alzheimer’s patients treated with Aβ immunotherapies (AN1792, lecanemab). Transcriptomic analysis of the frontal cortex showed upregulation of microglia-related genes, including TREM2 and APOE, correlating with Aβ removal. Findings support the central role of microglia in therapeutic response and offer new insights into gene targets and regional brain activity during treatment.
