Microwave ablation may be a promising alternative treatment for cases of arteriovenous malformations that are not good candidates for surgery and embolization. In a case report, a patient with a giant arteriovenous malformation that covered the forehead, nose, lips, and cheeks was successfully treated using low-power and short-duration microwave ablation under ultrasound guidance. After two years of follow-up, the patient's face almost returned to normal, indicating that microwave ablation may be a new alternative therapy for maxillofacial arteriovenous malformations.

A 10-year retrospective study of 238 men with intermediate-risk prostate cancer found that lower pretreatment tumor ADC on multiparametric MRI was associated with worse long-term outcomes. Patients with ADC ≤0.668 × 10⁻³ mm²/s had nearly four times higher risk of distant metastasis, suggesting ADC may provide additional prognostic information beyond standard clinical risk classification.
