Modified internal sinus elevation for patients with low residual bone height

The study investigated the feasibility of a modified internal sinus floor elevation method in patients with low residual bone height using a 3D finite element model and reported on the long-term outcomes. The modified internal sinus floor elevation was found to have positive clinical outcomes, with a lower perforation rate and a slightly lower sinus floor lift height compared to the external sinus floor elevation group. The study also found that the peak stress of the sinus membrane increased with an increase in height elevation and degree of membrane separation.
