A retrospective study developed a predictive model for adverse perinatal outcomes in cases of fetal growth restriction requiring delivery before 28 weeks. The models showed better predictive performance than a model based solely on gestational age, with an improved area under the curve (AUC) of 81%. The models were also externally validated, yielding similar AUC values. The study suggests that combining gestational age at birth, fetal weight, male sex, and Doppler stage can aid in counseling and decision-making for these cases.
