The study investigated the antibody and T cell responses to the SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) who were on fingolimod or ocrelizumab, compared to healthy controls (HCs). The results showed that seroconversion rates were lower in patients on ocrelizumab after two doses of the vaccine, but T-cell responses were preserved. After three doses of the vaccine, seroconversion rates increased in all groups but remained lower in patients on ocrelizumab. However, T-cell responses were preserved in patients on ocrelizumab and fingolimod compared to HCs. These findings suggest that MS patients on ocrelizumab and fingolimod may have attenuated humoral responses but preserved T-cell responses after SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination.
