Despite slight reductions in blood pressure, multidomain interventions did not impact dementia incidence in older adults. This pooled analysis of MAPT (n=1679) and preDIVA (n=3526) trials found no mediating effect of risk factor changes, such as BMI, cholesterol, or physical activity, on dementia outcomes. Cardiovascular risk management likely diminished intervention effects. Further research is needed to better target dementia prevention in this population.
