The systematic review and meta-analysis (13 studies; 8 in meta-analysis) found that women with PCOS had significantly larger neck circumference (NC) than controls (SMD: 0.78; p = 0.0012). Larger NC was linked with higher insulin resistance, waist/hip size, triglycerides, and MetS prevalence. NC thresholds for metabolic risk ranged from 33–42 cm, but most studies involved Asian populations—limiting generalizability.
