Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy with PD-1 Improves Rectal Cancer Outcomes

Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy combined with PD-1 antibody showed promising results in treating ultra-low rectal cancer, with high complete clinical response (cCR) and organ preservation rates. In a phase II trial of 23 patients, 10 achieved cCR and 5 near-cCR, leading to rectum preservation in 63.4% and anus preservation in 95.5% of patients. The therapy was well-tolerated, suggesting potential for improved outcomes in rectal cancer treatment.
