The study identified two novel biomarkers for keloid disease (KD)—NF-kappa-Beta-p65 (RELA) and Calpain-2 (CAPN2)—through proteomics and transcriptomics analyses. Elevated levels of these proteins were linked to key signaling pathways, including apoptosis. Functional assays showed that omeprazole and dexamethasone enhanced apoptosis in KD fibroblasts, suggesting potential therapeutic avenues. This research advances our understanding of KD pathogenesis and treatment.
