New Targeted Therapy Approach Shows Promise Against Bladder Cancer Progression

Researchers have identified the β-catenin/BCL9(L) signaling axis as a potential new therapeutic target in bladder cancer. The study found that the proteins BCL9 and BCL9L promote tumor cell growth, migration, and invasion. A novel inhibitor, ZW4864, disrupted this pathway, suppressing cancer cell proliferation and reducing the growth of bladder cancer organoids in laboratory models. The findings offer promising insights into developing targeted therapies for a disease that continues to present major treatment challenges.
