This systematic review and meta-analysis assessed outcomes of normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) versus traditional preservation methods (hypothermic machine perfusion [HMP] or static cold storage [SCS]) in kidney transplantation. NMP significantly reduced the risk of delayed graft function (DGF) compared to controls (OR: 0.47 [0.22, 0.99], p < 0.05). However, no significant differences were found for primary non-function (PNF), acute rejection, or 1-year graft survival.
