A bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis was conducted to investigate the causal association between diabetes mellitus and osteonecrosis. Using genome-wide association study data, the study found no evidence supporting a causal relationship in either direction. Multiple methods, including inverse variance weighting and meta-analysis, were employed to ensure result reliability and stability. The conclusion highlights the absence of a causal link between diabetes and osteonecrosis.
