This study uncovers two promising therapeutic targets for erectile dysfunction (ED) using Mendelian randomization and gene expression data from over 325,000 individuals. These targets, validated through co-localization, drug docking, and single-cell RNA sequencing, are expressed in endothelial, Schwann, and smooth muscle cells—key players in ED pathology. The findings open new avenues beyond PDE5 inhibitors, encouraging research for more effective, targeted ED treatments.
