A study of 316 pregnant women found that NT-proBNP, at a cut-off of 116 pg/mL, predicts early-onset pre-eclampsia (PE) within one week with accuracy similar to the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio. This biomarker could serve as an alternative for early PE detection, especially where sFlt-1/PlGF testing is unavailable, improving timely intervention and maternal-fetal outcomes.
