A UK Biobank study of 220,016 participants found that obesity-induced dysfunctions significantly raise cancer risk and mortality. Clustered analyses showed the highest cancer incidence (HR = 3.17) in those with preclinical obesity who developed dysfunction, and the highest cancer mortality (HR = 1.82) in those with clinical obesity. Early intervention is vital to reduce cancer burden.
