This study probed into ocular dominance shift (ODS) after unilateral cataract surgery, identifying age, non-dominant eye vision, cataract type, and astigmatism as risk factors. The revelation that ODS occurred in 40.4% of patients yet did not impact vision-related quality of life underscores the potential impact of our work on patient care. These findings aid in predicting ODS and optimizing intraocular lens selection, motivating us to further commit to our work in the field of ophthalmology.
