Among the 35 patients with T3 and T4 stage disease, the 5-year overall survival rates were 100% for T3 and 64.2% for T4. Notably, the survival rate was significantly higher for T4a (82.4%) compared to T4b (30%). The 5-year progression-free survival rates were 100% for T3, 68% for T4a, and 20% for T4b.

A retrospective study of 161 adults found that plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) improved early soft tissue healing after endodontic surgery when used alone. Combined with a collagen membrane, PRGF reduced analgesic use, adverse effects and quality-of-life impact while preserving clinical attachment. Margin-controlled surgery, imiquimod or radiotherapy may be considered for selected lesions.
