
The study sought to determine the optimal chest compression site for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in individuals with a single ventricle and dextrocardia corrected through Fontan surgery. The study analyzed chest computed tomography images and found that the most effective compression site is the largest part of the compressed single ventricle. Right-sided chest compression at this site resulted in a 7% greater increase in the area fraction of the single ventricle compared to conventional compression, suggesting its potential superiority for CPR in Fontan circulation with dextrocardia.
