The ACCESS-TAVI trial compared two vascular closure device (VCD) strategies in patients after transfemoral transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TF-TAVI). Results showed that the combined suture/plug strategy was more effective, reducing vascular complications by 45% compared to the suture-only approach. The suture/plug group also achieved faster hemostasis and experienced fewer bleeding events within 30 days, with no difference in mortality. These findings suggest that a suture/plug VCD strategy may enhance post-TF-TAVI outcomes.
