Oral Premalignant and Malignant Lesions in Fanconi Anemia Patients

This study aimed to address the lack of data on cancer surveillance in pediatric patients with Fanconi Anemia (FA). The average age of presentation was 11.3 years, and 90.5% of patients underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). The study found that 8.6% of patients had leukoplakia or erythroplakia, and 3.8% developed malignancy. The study highlights the importance of screening for head and neck cancer in FA patients starting at age 10.
