Oscillometric pulse wave analysis for detecting low flow arteriovenous fistula

A study evaluated the use of convenient oscillometric devices for detecting low blood flow in patients with a native fistula on haemodialysis. The study found that certain pulse wave parameters, such as the mean slope between systolic maximum and the diacrotic notch (Slope2), the sum of mean slopes in pulse wave sections (Slope∑), and the amplitude of relative volumetric change (AMP), were useful in detecting low flow. AMP showed the highest diagnostic accuracy among the parameters studied.
