Charges, complications, survival, and functional results for mandibular osteoradionecrosis definitive surgery (ORN). From 2000 to 2009, 76 patients who had segmental mandibulectomy with reconstruction were studied retrospectively. In 65 percent of patients, complications occurred, and they were linked to preoperative drainage. The adjusted median charge was $343 000, with double flap reconstruction and smoking being related with greater expenditures. Improved swallowing was linked to a lower age of 67 years and a better preoperative swallow. Surgical complications are common, and charges are considerable, despite the fact that ORN recurrence is rare. Preoperative variables are linked to poorer outcomes and greater expenses.
