This retrospective real-world study assessed the outcomes of treating neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) with brolucizumab alone (BRO) or alternating with another anti-VEGF (ALT). Among 482 eyes, both groups showed vision preservation, central macular thickness (CMT) reduction, and extended anti-VEGF injection intervals. At 12 and 18 months, mean visual acuity changes were -1.1 and 0.0 letters in the BRO group and 1.3 and -7.3 letters in the ALT group, respectively. Injection intervals increased in both cohorts, with mean CMT reductions. Intraocular inflammation-related adverse events occurred in 4.6% of eyes. The study suggests that brolucizumab, alone or alternated, preserves vision, reduces CMT, and extends injection intervals in nAMD patients.
